Blockly Awards 2026
The Micro:bit Educational Foundation was awarded the Outstanding Contribution in Accessibility award at the annual Blockly Summit.
This is in recognition for our work in making Microsoft MakeCode screen-reader compatible and for empowering students with disabilities to learn block-based coding. This work was made possible in consultation with a Youth Ideation Panel, consisting of visually impaired young coders, to ensure the solution was suitable for the users it is designed to support.
