Global goals
With micro:bit technology, students created "Fire Hunter," an early forest fire detection system, as well as arsonist detection. It consists of emitting an alarm when temperature or sound levels are out of the ordinary. The radio will transmit to the database or authorities; the indications of fire or forest logging (with the sound detector, the aim is to recognize chainsaws or objects that endanger forests), allowing a quick response. (capture of the arsonist, stop the spread of the fire, stop logging).
They were inspired by the notable climate changes in the region caused by different forest fires in recent years, which motivated the students to protect their environment and contribute to the SDG climate action.
