WISE Awards 2019

The Micro:bit Educational Foundation was one of six projects from four countries to win the 2019 WISE Awards. Winners are awarded "for their innovative solutions to education challenges and their positive social impact."

"Each year, the WISE Awards recognize and promote six successful innovative projects that are addressing global educational challenges. Since 2009, WISE has received more than 3,000 applications from over 150 countries. Today, 66 projects have been awarded, from a wide variety of sectors and locations for their innovation, positive contribution and ability to adapt and scale up."

The Qatar Foundation established WISE in 2009, which is "an international, multi-sectoral platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action. WISE has established itself as a global reference in new approaches to education. Through both the biennial Summit and a range of ongoing programs WISE is promoting innovation and building the future of education through collaboration."
