UK Business Tech Awards 2020
The Micro:bit Educational Foundation was announced as Ed Tech Company of the Year at the UK Business Tech Awards in November 2020.
The UK Business Tech Awards celebrate the UK’s finest tech businesses and reward innovative and exceptional application of technology to support transformation and growth. The awards are judged by an independent panel of some of the UK’s leading technology experts.
Our submission celebrated the talent and commitment of our team across the year, but in particular shone a spotlight on the new micro:bit classroom resource which launched in March 2020. We also shared examples of how the Foundation’s work pivoted during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding creative ways to support teachers as schools shut and students faced the challenge of learning at home.
The judges commented that our work “had notable passion at its grassroots” and applauded our focus on promoting diversity and engaging more girls in tech.
