Tech for Teachers Awards 2019

The Micro:bit Educational Foundation was delighted to receive a Tech for Teachers Award in 2019, for the second year in a row.

Launched in 2018, the Tech for Teachers Awards celebrate the very best classroom innovations, judged in curriculum-linked categories – maths, English, science, modern foreign languages, STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths), computing and the arts.

In order to succeed, entries must be as effective as they are innovative, demonstrating real benefits for teaching and learning, value for money, and long-term potential.

The Computing category judge, Terry Freedom, said of the micro:bit:

“Being able to create something that is an actual object with your own code makes this device not only exciting, but potentially a great introduction to other areas, such as the internet of things.”
