Launching micro:bit Live Global - a unique event exploring how we can all work together to unlock digital futures.
Over the course of the last ten years, the digital landscape has changed rapidly. Technology has become embedded in everyday lives, from smart watches to surveillance, our finances to our health. The children of ten years ago are now forging careers that did not exist in their childhoods. And with the rising accessibility and innovations in artificial intelligence, how can we empower and prepare young people of today for what might come in the next ten years?
As we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Micro:bit Educational Foundation, we are excited to launch micro:bit Live Global 2026. This in-person event brings together people from around the world who want to empower young people to create their best digital futures, powered by the BBC micro:bit.
With educators, innovators, curriculum designers, nonprofits, researchers, policy makers, and more people from the computing education and micro:bit communities, explore a decade of collaboration and learning, and consider what the next decade of technological innovation could mean for the young people of today.

- Build lasting connections across the digital education community
We'll be diving into a diverse range of important topics, including how physical computing can help teach AI literacy to children, how to build innovative collaborations to jumpstart computing teaching, and why accessibility is fundamental for building digital futures. Research will also be a fundamental part of the conversation, as we bring academia and commercial perspectives together.
Call for proposals
There are so many exciting and innovative projects that have used the micro:bit to inspire young people. We want to know more about your project and see you present at micro:bit Live Global.
Submit a proposal for a poster, short presentation or short workshop to share your creative educational projects and campaigns at micro:bit Live Global.
Deadline for submission is 1 December 2025.
Join us in Barcelona
This is the first global, in-person event that the Foundation has held since 2019, and we are excited to be going to Barcelona - where local collaborations between the government, commercial and grassroots partners have created a strong uptake in micro:bit and physical computing education. It will be a great place to learn more about how collaborations across the micro:bit community have fuelled innovative education projects around the world.
