Our project
Our project goals:
- Create a bracelet to help children, especially girls, check their heart rate and emotional state.
- Send a warning to family members when the child is in danger, scared, worried, or facing school violence or abuse.
- Use modern technology like the micro:bit to make a useful product.
Our project not only helps monitor health and heart rate, but also brings calm and safety to the user and their family. That’s why we named it: Peaceful Bracelet.
Parts of the bracelet:
- 2 Micro:bit boards
- 2 x 3V batteries
- 1 heart rate sensor
- 1 wristband made from recycled plastic bottles
Features we used from the Micro:bit:
- Heart rate sensor: to check the user’s heart rate
- Timer function: works like a simple watch
- Radio: to send signals
- Speaker: to play warning sounds
- LED screen: to show heart rate and time
How it works:
- Press button A to check the heart rate.
The bracelet reads the heart rate to guess the emotional state. When a person is scared or worried, the heart rate goes up. The higher it is, the more scared they might be.
If the heart rate is 70–90 bpm (normal), no signal is sent.
Warning level 1: If heart rate is 90–110 bpm, it sends signal 1 to family.
Warning level 2: If heart rate is above 110 bpm, it sends signal 2 and plays a warning sound. - Press button B to show the clock on the screen.
Future plans:
- Use solar energy instead of 3V batteries to save energy and protect the environment.
- Add Bluetooth to send data to a phone.
- Add GPS to show the user’s location.
- Improve the design to make the bracelet smaller, prettier, and easier to wear.
Our inspiration
The students learned about micro:bit technology. They discovered many useful features of the micro:bit and saw how these features can be used to create helpful products for daily life.
