Our project

During this week, our challenge was to produce a prototype to help the child Carol to be able to play on an accessible swing. First, we made a map of the empathy of the Carol persona, trying to identify their wants and needs. Then, we started the process of researching the affordable toys available on the market. The next step was to sketch our prototype and, finally, we got our hands dirty to build our prototype. We wanted an automated scale that would allow Carol to use it with greater autonomy, without someone having to swing it. To solve this issue, we used microbit and the robotbit extension and developed the programming. We solved the problems that arose in both construction and programming, made the necessary adaptations and then arrived at the final result. Imagine a park with other accessible toys?

Our inspiration

We chose SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities. We want to provide access to inclusive public space.
The micro:bit will be used to automate the swing adapted for an accessible park.
