Our project

  1. Turn on the power supply battery of the micro:bit (boot sound and heart graphics)
  2. Press the B button to start detection (the screen will display a checkmark)
  3. Different obstacles at different distances will make different sound effects
  4. When the user falls, the micro:bit will make a warning sound
  5. Press the A button to stop detection and sound

Our inspiration

"Every time I see the injured walking uphill or downhill using crutches, I feel very sorry for them because it is very uncomfortable and difficult to walk with crutches. I also thought that when the visually impaired are using crutches, it is very dangerous as they do not know whether there are obstacles in front of them.

In order to solve this problem, I decided to install a micro:bit in front of the crutches to make alerting sounds, so that the injured and visually impaired can use them with a peace of mind. The height of the crutches are adjustable, so even children can use them."
