SDG 13 Climate Action

Our project

It is a system against natural disasters caused by climate change to have safer classrooms in schools and to prevent incidents. To protect the physical integrity of our sixth grade classmates and it is a system that can be replicated for the entire school. The project has the following functions:

  • a hurricane detector
  • a flood alarm (yellow alert and red alert).
  • an earthquake alarm.
  • a fire alarm.
  • a heat stroke detector (to protect the health of classmates)
  • a room temperature meter (warns if hydration is needed)
  • a body temperature meter (to detect dengue fever)

All alarms send an alert to students and the principal using the radio function.

Our inspiration

Participating in the UNICEF and the Honduran Ministry of Education event "Playing with technology and MicroBit" to counteract the effects of climate change in our country. The project was a compilation of the best ideas for projects to combat climate change from our sixth grade classmates.
