Our project

This project creates a device that lets you experience cool Iaido-style sword cutting. Swing the sword to cut down bamboo one after another. The direction in which the bamboo falls changes depending on the direction of your swing, making it a fun and interactive action experience.

This setup uses two micro:bits that communicate wirelessly. The first micro:bit is attached to the sword to detect the swing and send signals wirelessly. The second micro:bit receives the signals and operates the cam mechanism's servo motor to drop the bamboo, as well as controls sound effects and a warning light.

Our inspiration

I created this because the demonstration of Iaido cutting was so impressive that I wanted to try it myself. Since it seemed like it would take a long time to actually master the skill, I decided to come up with a way that anyone could easily experience it.
