Sri Lanka - Hour of Code workshops
Nenasala Center, Udubaddawa
About the micro:bit-based Hour of Code workshops in Nenasala Center, Udubaddawa, Sri Lanka, run by Micro:bit SLUG (Sri Lanka Users Group)
Udubaddawa’s Nenasala Centre provides ICT education for more than 80 students, all of whom attended a micro:bit awareness event... before 20 of them got coding during the very first micro:bit-based Hour of Code in Sri Lanka! Enthusiasm was high, and the centre is hoping to run more workshops in the near future.
Udubaddawa is located 100 miles away from Colombo, the Commercial Capital in the Western Province, Sri Lanka.
Nenasala, meaning 'Wisdom Outlet', is a government-led initiative which aims to help fight poverty, develop culture and commerce, and sustain peace in rural areas. There are more than 750 Nenasala centres throughout Sri Lanka.
