micro:bit's Workshop Schedule at BETT 2019
The Micro:bit Educational Foundation will be at BETT 2019 at ExCeL London (23 - 26 January). Come and find us on stand C420 by the 21st Century Skills area and say hello!
We’re running workshops so you can come and learn more about the BBC micro:bit, our worldwide partners and some of the amazing things you can do with our deceptively simple device.
About the workshops
Microsoft will be getting visitors coding and making a wearable rock-paper-scissors game. The Scratch team from MIT will be running workshops every day on how micro:bit works with Scratch 3.0; outside workshop times visitors will also have the opportunity to meet members of Scratch team at the MIT Media Lab. Helen Leigh will be getting crafty with her micro:bit musical glove inspired by Imogen Heap, and Elbrie de Kock, co-author of micro:bit in Wonderland, will be taking visitors coding through the looking glass with the help of a classic of children’s literature.
We have workshops and talks from around the world: Bosnia, Brazil, the Netherlands, our partners at Arm have been developing a micro:bit-based curriculum in China, and Nominet will show how micro:bit can be used to simplify the teaching of complex and abstract networking concepts. The University of Lancaster and Samsung will show how they are using micro:bits as IoT devices to help schools save money on energy bills.
There is much more going on, so to get the most out of your visit to BETT 2019, be sure to keep across our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for the latest updates.
